About

Artist and Designer Abbey Jacobsen holds a Bachelor of Design from RMIT, Melbourne (2008), with a steady career in branding and identity design. She lives in a small coastal town on the Bellarine Peninsula — Wadawurrung Land, Australia.

Her work explores key themes of line, rhythm space––influenced by music and the sea.

“As a designer, I’m conditioned to prioritise data and deadlines. While valuable in a commercial context, these frameworks rarely attend to the heart. Art allows me to shift perspective, embracing slower, more intuitive ways of thinking and observing life with haste.

I aim to evolve my work in a way that considers both the viewer and the resources it draws upon, offering a moment of pause.

Everything, in time.”

I acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which I live and work, the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation,

and pay my respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging.
